The Yokai

 

Yokai have some degree representation in media available outside of Japan. However, the yokai presented within Mysteries of the Yokai are a bit different from the spooks, monsters and ghouls some people might expect. Yokai to the Japanese represent the strange rather than just the scary or horrifying. Some of the yokai are downright silly or odd. These are all included under the umbrella term “yokai”. The many yokai of Japan can all make an appearance in this game, as well as a couple of new ones.
